Wizarding World Gold - Welcome Gift

Wizarding World Gold — a "spellbinding" new 12-month subscription — was officially announced on 14 October on the Wizarding World's official Twitter account. The subscription is priced at £59.99 in the UK and $74.99 in the US. Currently, the subscription is only available in these two places.

The subscription works alongside the new Wizarding World App, launched a little while ago. To complete your subscription order, you must have completed the new reimagined Sorting Ceremony on the app as your chosen house will influence how your Keys and Curios journal looks.

We preordered on the night of the announcement and our welcome package arrived only days later. It came in a slim black box, clasped together with an elegant Snitch, which actually forms part of one of the welcome gifts. The box was decorated in each corner with the four house animals.

Each Keys and Curios journal is distinct to its beholder, offering pages of personalised content. The covers are gorgeous, with four different options available — one for each house. This is why it's so important to be Sorted on the App before purchasing your subscription, as your journal will be tailored to include content from your house. The covers have an astrological design, each in house colours and bearing each houses' respective animal. As with other designs by MinaLima, the cover of this journal is gorgeous, we're sure you'll agree. Luckily, we are in two different houses, so the designs for both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw can be seen below.

House content continues inside the book, as each journal opens with a page describing your house qualities. On the adjoining page is an acrostic poem of your name, featuring information on your house! How cool is that? Moving further into the journal, there is a calendar which is also personalised. For example, the calendar for Gryffindor subscribers includes the birthdates of Harry, Hermione, Hagrid and even Bill Weasley.

The bespoke personalised elements of the Keys and Curios journals were designed by Wonderbly.

In addition to the Keys and Curios journal, Gold subscribers also receive two other welcome gifts — an exclusive pin badge and a postcard print of J.K. Rowling's original sketch of Hogwarts.

The badge is very simple in design, with just a silver winged key displayed on a black background. Fans will of course recognise this as a reference to Philosopher's Stone. If not, it just looks like a nicely designed badge.

The print, whilst small, is a detailed illustration drawn by Rowling of Hogwarts and the surrounding grounds, including handwritten notes and general tidbits of information. The inclusion of the Giant Squid in the lake is a firm favourite!

Subscribers will also gain access to an exclusive video series named Wizarding World Originals, as well as all seven eBooks of the original Harry Potter stories. There will be further pin badges to collect too, and subscribers will gain access to special events and discounts from Wizarding World locations around the world.

With Gold, subscribers will be able to unlock early access to merchandise from the website, as well as having priority to books tickets to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London and the US, and experience the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter.

(At the time of writing, these elements and features are not yet available).

We're so excited!
